Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO) (President and CEO: Yutaka Yamada) has been awarded a project for a 80,000 tons/year polycarbonate resin production facility that will be built by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co., Inc. (President: Kazuo Sakai) and Mitsubishi Engineering-Plastics Corp. (President: Yasuhiko Kijima) in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in China.

Construction of the plant is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2010 and the production will begin in 2012. The client's total investment in the polycarbonate resin complex project is expected to be approximately 30 billion yen.

Furthermore, eight years ago, TOYO formed a group that focus on globalization support projects of Japanese clients, and has reached this large-scale project in the general-purpose engineering plastics field. TOYO will continue to actively involve in globalization support projects in China by Japanese and other foreign companies.
