Toyo Engineering Korea Awarded an Ethylbenzene Plant from Russian SIBURApr. 15, 2008

Toyo Engineering Korea has won an Ethylbenzene Plant contract from a Russian Company, ZAO “Sibur-Khimprom”

Toyo Engineering Korea Limited (President & CEO Sugaya Naoki), with a cooperation of Itochu Corporation, has been awarded a contract from ZAO “Sibur-Khimprom”, a chemical and petrochemical subsidiary company of Gazprom, for construction of Ethyl benzene (EB) plant in Perm with capacity of 220,000 t/y.

The scope of contract includes basic design, detail design, procurement and supervision of construction. The start up is scheduled for the end of 2010. Licensed technology of the Badger Licensing LLC has been selected for this EB plant. This EB plant is a part of the new investment plan of ZAO “Sibur-Khimprom” consisting of construction of expandable polystyrene (EPS) facility, expansion of ethylene and Styrene Monomer (SM) facilities, as well as modernization and development of infrastructure for existing facilities. ZAO “Sibur-Khimprom” has adopted a long-tem investment program consisting of a series of investment projects, aiming at increasing of local market share as well as expansion of export of a wide range of organic synthesis products.

Toyo Engineering Korea expects to expand further business development in Russia based on vast experience of projects reflecting Russian norm requirements as well as unique know-how in Russia accumulated by cooperating with Toyo Engineering Corporation in Japan in the name of “Global Toyo”.
