Electrical Engineer

 

General Info:

Position: Electrical Engineer (Temporary)
Duration: April – Nov (8 months)
Vacancy: 1 position
Working Station: Toyo Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a Degree in Electrical Engineering background.
  • At least 8 years of working experience in Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Capable to prepare electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagram, Load Schedule, Motor Control Schedule, Cable schedule, Cable routing drawing, Power and Control drawing, Area Classification drawing, grounding drawing, etc.
  • Sufficient knowledge of International Codes & Standards in relation to Electrical Design.
  • Able to undertake works in electrical design up to construction at site (supervision).
  • Experience in Project Engineering, Preparation of Electrical Inquiry Documents and commercial/technical Bid Evaluation, MTO and Cost Estimation and Inter-Discipline coordination.
  • Familiar with Electrical Equipment such as Transformers, HV & LV Switchgear, MCC, Motors, UPS, LCS, Communication equipments, etc.
  • Able to perform Electrical calculations such as Cable sizing/voltage Drop calculations, Short Circuit study, etc.
  • Coordination works with other disciplines and review of other disciplines (e.g. Mechanical, Instrument and etc.) equipment packages/specification/datasheets.
  • PC literate (MsWord/ Excel/ MsPowerPoint) and Knowledge in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work in teams, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

SENIOR DESIGN HSE ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to undertake as a lead Design HSE Engineer, review and liaise with third party consultant, and client related to Design HSE Studies, Loss Prevention Studies as well as Fire Protection Engineering Design.
  • Responsible to undertake safety studies for some engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure the quality of third party consultant’s work and timely execution of project delivery.
  • Responsible for the Engineering, Procurement activities; also expected to provide support to Construction and Commissioning team where required.
  • Responsible to assist in proposal execution such as preparation of comprehensive and attractive technical write-up, cost and man-hour estimation.
  • Lead Design HSE Engineer shall perform the following activities:
    • Develop document related to Design HSE studies – Design HSE Plan, Design HSE Studies Schedule etc.
    • Selection and appointment of third party consultants for the Design HSE Studies and coordination work with the involvement in preparation of input/output design documents analysis, reports and close-out reports as required by Clients and ITB including but not limited to the following desktop studies and review sessions:
      • HAZID;
      • HAZOP;
      • IPF;
      • HRA;
      • QRA;
      • HER & Bow-Tie;
      • Gas Dispersion Study;
      • Alarm Rationalization Study;
      • CIMAH;
      • Human Factor Engineering;
      • F&G Mapping; and
      • Fire Safety Analysis Report (FSAR),
      • Mechanical Integrity Deliverables etc.
    • Involved in preparation of Fire Safety Design Philosophy / HSE Philosophy.
    • To develop the following documents and analysis including but not limited to:
      • Fire Protection System Design Basis / Philosophies
      • Fire water network hydraulic calculations
      • Fire protection equipment layout
      • Fire and Gas cause-and-effect diagrams
      • Fire and Gas detection layouts
      • Fire fighting and safety equipment specifications
      • Passive fire protection layouts
      • Fire and Gas Design & Control Philosophies etc.
    • Installation/pre-commissioning activities and BOMBA matters
      • prepare procedures for testing and pre-commissioning activities, site coordination work between sub-contractors and vendors, construction team and owners
      • participate in the testing and pre-commissioning activities
      • BOMBA submission and approval matter – FSDP, Active Submission and BOMBA site functional testing and inspection.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess Chemical or Mechanical Engineering background from recognized University.
  • At least 10 years of engineering design experience in Fire Protection System and Fire & Gas Detection System, Design HSE/Process Safety studies in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical field for major oil companies.
  • Familiar with process safety study, risk assessment study, HAZOP, IPF/SIL, Human Factor Engineering (HFE), F&G Mapping, Alarm Management Study, gas dispersion study, RAM, MCF, etc.
  • Understand Code and Standards used in Fire & Gas System, Process Safety and good knowledge in DOE requirement.
  • Good knowledge and ability in Risk Engineering Software.
  • Proficient in PIPENET (fire water hydraulic calculation) or equivalent software.
  • Competent user of Sound Plan, DNV PHAST/ Safety software will be of added advantage.
  • Able to carry out site survey in order to gain required information and/or verification of existing plant documentation.
  • Ability to work in teams and possess excellent interpersonal, communication/presentation and report writing skills.
  • Able to travel to site to assist commissioning activity and BOMBA inspection.
  • Good skill and experience in the application of Auto-CAD software.
  • PC literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project as a minimum).
  • Good command in English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).
  • Committed to the works and be able to work extra mile.
  • Well verse with PTS and PBTR related to process safety and fire protection would be an added advantage.
  • Registered with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) and/or MBOT as Graduate Engineer.
  • Registered as Professional Engineer (Ir.) and/or Professional Technologist (Ts.) would be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Japanese would be an added advantage.

 

Project Planner

Job Description:

The Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring construction schedules to ensure efficient project execution and timely completion of construction activities. The role involves progress monitoring, construction sequencing, look-ahead planning and schedule analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Monitor construction progress and identify schedule variances.
  • Perform construction sequence planning and workfront planning.
  • Prepare short-term and long-term look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, Procurement and Subcontractors to ensure work readiness.
  • Conduct critical path and schedule impact analyses.
  • Prepare recovery plans to mitigate schedule delays.
  • Monitor productivity and support construction progress forecasting.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves and schedule updates.
  • Participate in construction coordination and planning meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power, infrastructure, or construction industry.
  • Proficient in project planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) phases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP, or equivalent are an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Japanese would be an added advantage.

IWP Workface Planner

Job Description:

The IWP Workface Planner is responsible for ensuring construction workface readiness through effective work packaging and constraint management to support safe and productive field execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and monitor Installation Work Packages (IWP).
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Field Teams to ensure work package readiness.
  • Verify availability of drawings, materials, equipment, permits and manpower prior to work package release.
  • Identify and track constraints affecting construction execution.
  • Facilitate timely resolution of construction constraints with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support look-ahead planning and work package prioritization.
  • Monitor work package progress and field productivity.
  • Support implementation of Workface Planning (WFP), Installation Work Packaging (IWP) and Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodologies.
  • Participate in construction planning and coordination meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls within the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power plant, or construction industry.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of overall project execution.
  • Proficient in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) project execution.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams to ensure work package readiness.
  • Knowledge of project control processes, including schedule forecasting, critical path analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Project Engineer

Job Description:

The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting project execution through effective coordination of engineering, procurement, construction and project control activities to ensure projects are delivered safely on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Manager in planning, coordinating and monitoring project execution activities.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Site Teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor project schedule, progress and key milestones, and highlight potential delays or issues.
  • Track engineering deliverables, material status and construction readiness.
  • Prepare project reports, progress updates, meeting minutes and action trackers.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between internal departments, clients, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Identify project risks, issues and constraints, and support resolution with relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in project planning, coordination and progress review meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with project procedures, quality requirements and HSE standards.
  • Support project close-out activities, including documentation and final handover.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project execution, project coordination or construction projects.
  • Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with project scheduling and progress monitoring.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
