Urea

Summary

Urea is a major nitrogen fertilizer produced from ammonia and carbon dioxide as raw material. Its application is not only for fertilizer but also for cattle feed, industrial purpose of resin/plastic/adhesive glue and recently expanded into reducing agent (“AdBlue®”) for SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) to decrease the emission of NOx from diesel engine vehicles. In addition the increasing of demand of bio-energy causes more demand of urea fertilizer.In this way, Urea is one of the most important product to solve the issues of “Food”, “Environment” and “Energy”.

Features

Since its establishment in 1961, Toyo has been a leader in the urea industry. TOYO has designed, engineered, constructed and commissioned over 100 urea plants based on our Urea Process including its urea synthesis technologies and urea granulation technologies.

In early 1980’s, TOYO has established the most energy efficient process of ACES (Advanced Process for Cost and Energy Saving.). And using its own expertise, advanced technology and new thinking, TOYO has established the ACES21®, which achieves energy saving and plant cost reduction with maintaining the excellent feature of ACES process such as high performance and high efficiency. Now, the production capacity of single train ACES21 reaches 4,000 t/d.

Furthermore, TOYO started the establishment of a Urea Granulation Process based on a “Spout Bed” type urea granulator and expanded its own Technical range to provide a variety of urea fertilizer products since late 1970’s in addition to the conventional Urea Prill Product and Urea Solution Product. In late 1980's, TOYO further improved its design of the granulator by applying the “Spout Fluid Beds” for the granulator, which is a combination of the spouted beds and fluidizing beds and reduces energy requirements and improves the quality of the product granules.

TOYO developed High Grade material DP28W™ and other related technologies for urea production in addition to ACES21 and Urea Granulation Process and supply them as owner of those technologies.

Urea offers

TOYO has established the most energy efficient process of ACES (Advanced Process for Cost and Energy Saving.) in early 1980’s.
TOYO further improved its design of the granulator by applying the Spout-Fluid Beds for the granulator, which is a combination of the spouted beds and fluidizing beds and reduces energy requirements and improves the quality of the product granules.
TOYO and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) have jointly developed new duplex stainless steel DP28W for urea plant with the remarkable corrosion resistance.
TOYO has been developing and supplying the various owned technologies related with urea production as urea licensor.
As a licensor of urea processes and related technologies, TOYO offers various types of contracts from a direct license to the client to an indirect license through engineering firms.
