TOYO Awarded Synthetic Rubber Plant for Japan-Based Firm in ChinaApr. 12, 2006

Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO) has received a contract for a synthetic rubber plant to be built by Bridgestone (Huizhou) Synthetic Rubber Co., Ltd., a Bridgestone Corporation affiliate, in China. The plant will be constructed in the Huizhou Dayawan Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guangdong Province to produce 50,000 t/y styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). TOYO is responsible for engineering, procurement of equipment and materials, and construction on a lump-sum basis, plus commissioning assistance. The plant is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2008.

The project has been awarded to TOYO, in connection with TOYO's experience in petrochemical plant construction and other activities in China, which has created a strong reliance on TOYO. TOYO will actively strive to win contracts for projects in China planned by firms in Japan and other countries.
